PANGKALAN BUN TO SURABAYA TO MT. BROMO

An early wake up call for a 4:45 departure by houseboat back along the Sekonyer River to Kumai River back to Air Force airport for 8:50am flight from Pangkalan Bun to Surabaya, followed by a 4-hour drive to Mt. Bromo.
At Mt. Bromo we stayed at the Jiwa Jawa Lodge , which sits atop a 2,000 meter mountain in Probolinggo, East Java.
We checked in and then went for afternoon tea. Here we tried a delicious ginger tea called Wedang Pokak Ginger tea, which is made by soaking and boiling fresh ginger root, sprigs of pandan leaves, sliced lemon grass and sugar. Addictive, I tell ya!
I think this is the same plane we took here two days before and probably hasn’t moved since.
How could you not be happy when eating these chips?
So clever!
