The detail again is incredible.
I had tickets to the Royal bedrooms, which to my understanding (my grief brain prevents me from remembering most everything) is used in some capacity when the Royal family is in town. You don’t get to see their actual bedrooms but the public spaces where they might conduct official state business or at the very least what is seen in the media.
You cannot take anything into that royal bedrooms and must lock away your phone, wallets, umbrellas, etc and are escorted in small groups by two security personnel
The following picture is the staircase leading up to the second level where the bedrooms are located.
Images from around the rest of the palace
You must always look up. In any old building/historical site in Europe - look up! Ceilings are priceless pieces of art.
My body needed some TLC so i enjoyed a few hours at the baths with an hour long massage.
After which I enjoyed a very leisurely afternoon and into the evening meal and read my book.
Baked goat cheese on an olive oil and rosemary toast (more like a light naan) with honey and tomato jam!
Grilled artichokes
Iberian ham croquettes
